Klub Champs & Local Event 11th July - Enter Now!

Online entries for the Klub Champs & Local Event at Ashton Hill Woods on Sunday 11th July are now open via Fabian4. To compete in the Klub Champs, you must enter by Friday 2nd July, to give us time to work out the handicaps for the chasing start. The local event, for which pre-entry is also required, is open to all and will have the usual queueing start.

Reminder - Klub Weekend 18th-20th June

The closing date for the Saturday Regional event and Sunday 2x2 Relay event (part of SBOC's Midsummer at Margam weekend) is Monday 14th June. Online entries and campsite bookings via Fabian4. If anyone is still looking for a partner for the 2x2 relay, please contact Chris or Helen Kelsey so that we can try to help.

Cotswold Way Relay update - another runner needed

Phil Warry writes - Following my earlier articles, I have now entered a BOK team for this year's Cotswold Way Relay, but still need one more runner - of any age, gender and fitness level! Congratulations to Matt, Isla and Ben

Congratulations to Matt Crane on his selection for the Middle Distance race at the 2010 World Orienteering Championships to be held in Trondheim, Norway in August. Matt will join ex-BOK member Oli Johnson, who has been selected for the Long race.

Congratulations also to Isla Simmons and Ben Maliphant for their selection for the Talent Coaching Camp in the Cairngorms in July.

Cotswold Way Relay - update

Phil Warry writes - As an update to my earlier article (posted on 5 March) about organising a BOK team for this year’s Cotswold Way Relay, I now have 7 people who want to run, so need 3 more to make up a team. In particular, we need at least one more lady to run, as we need a minimum of 3 ladies for a mixed team, but only have 2 so far. As an added incentive, all competitors will get a free race T shirt this year! Last year the entries were full by the end of May, so if you would like to take part, please let me know either by e-mail or on 0117 9654287 - as soon as possible.

Klub Weekend 18th-20th June

SBOC has once again invited us to join them for their Mid Summer weekend, which this year will use Margam Country Park as the event campsite and Merthyr Mawr for the Saturday Regional event and Sunday 2x2 relays. There will also be a Friday evening event at Graig Fawr and we plan to have a barbecue on the Saturday evening. Margam Country Park has plenty of camping space and free access to the country park and some attractions. Fees are £7.50 per unit per night (tent or van), no hook ups but shower and toilets; see www.npt.gov.uk/margampark for further details. All events are within 20 minutes of the campsite. Online entries and campsite bookings are via http://www.fabian4.co.uk/, closing date Monday 14^th June 2010. Further information is available here. This has always been a very enjoyable and sociable weekend in past years, so we would recommend you to come along. Please let Chris or Helen Kelsey know if you intend to come so that we have a rough idea of numbers.

The closing date for the Harvester relays is fast approaching. If you wish to run, please let your Klub Captains know as soon as possible.

BOC Relay Teams

The BOC relay teams are now on the website. There is currently a vacancy in an M18 team, so eligible volunteers please let your Klub captains know. If you can advise us of your running orders, we may be able to declare teams online before the event. But if not, please come to the Individual day with the necessary information.

JK Relay Teams

BOK teams for the JK relays are now on the website, see Hot Links. We've tried to achieve the best fit of runners to classes, but as usual not everyone can be placed in the most ideal class. Please liaise within your teams to agree a running order. Legs are run in the order Long/Short/Long for classes A-H, Green/Orange/Green for classes J & K. For the Mixed Ad Hoc, legs are Long Green/Short Green/Orange but not in a prescribed order. If you notify Klub Captains of your running order by 11pm on Wednesday 31st March, team declarations can be made online. Otherwise it will be pen and paper at the event.

Members input is needed to BOF AGM proposals on event levies. Please can you read the Committee's voting recommendation for the upcoming BOF AGM. Proxy voting forms need to be returned by 31st March.

For something a bit different - Mountain Bike Orienteering

There is a MBO event at Foxley in Herefordshire on Sunday 18th April organised by Harlequins Orienteering Club. Youth and "Come and Try It" courses available so no excuses for not giving it a go.

Saturday Winter League - Final Points
